The organization is geared towards personal empowerment and community outreach.

About

My name is Cynthia Adams, and I am the Director of Changing the Next Generation, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Just to share a little of my story, my mother taught me from a little girl to always help if there’s a need. Throughout the years, my mother’s words have resonated within me.  I have always had a passion to help, inspire, motivate, and encourage others. To know that I can make a difference in the lives of others brings me great joy and pleasure.

After many years of helping my community along with family and friends, we’ve been able to feed and clothe thousands of homeless families and individuals throughout the years.

Other philanthropic efforts we sponsor are visits to senior citizens’ residential homes where we have spa days to pamper our seniors, Christmas parties for the holidays, and performances with lots of food and laughter. We also have movie nights with concession stands set up to accommodate those who cannot attend a movie theater and so much more. We love to show our seniors that they are loved and appreciated for their sacrifices and to let them know that they are not alone.

Every year my organization sponsors a back-to-school giveaway to assist students with school supplies and uniforms to ensure that they have a great start to the school year.  We also donate supplies to Title I schools in low-income areas. We have also sponsored youth sports teams by covering the cost of registration fees, sports equipment, and uniforms for underprivileged children.  I feel no child should give up on his or her dreams of playing sports and possibly becoming a professional athlete one day.

We feed the community throughout the year, but during the Thanksgiving holiday, we feed a tremendous amount of less fortunate families.  We also conduct toy drives and donate thousands of toys and gifts to insure that children wake up on Christmas morning with the joy the season brings.

I have recently started an empowerment event called ‘GIRL TALK’ The Experience. It’s geared towards motivating, Inspiring, Empowering and Healing women of all ages. This event gives woman the platform to let their voice be heard, share their story and let them know that they are not alone.

I shared a part of my journey to say that I’ve put in a tremendous amount of work, time, and dedication to help others in need, and the work still continues till this day.

My philanthropic work was recently recognized, and I was awarded my Doctorate in Humanitarianism.  This honor was bestowed upon me for my countless contributions, advocacy, and community service.  I am honored to say that I am now Dr. Cynthia Ruth Adams.

I am thankful to honor the memory of my late mother, Dr. Dorothy Jean Adams.  I am extremely thankful for her and know that she is beyond proud of the woman I’ve become.

Her words, “If there’s a NEED and if you can HELP…HELP” have life because I am able to help those in need daily. Her words have allowed me to create words of my own.  I say ‘The world is full of good people, if you can’t find one BE one.

Thank you,

Dr. Cynthia Ruth Adams
